Six Organizations in North Dakota Receive Grants from Health and Human Services for Suicide Prevention Efforts

The North Dakota Health and Human Services has announced the organizations that will receive funding for its suicide prevention initiative. Six groups were chosen, each with a proven track record of supporting individuals struggling with mental health issues. These organizations include Minot State University’s Center for Persons with Disabilities, Peer Vision for Mental Health, Haugen Performance Consulting, Eyes on the Horizon Consulting, Consensus Council, and Cook Center for Human Connection.

Melissa Markegard, the suicide prevention administrator for HHS, emphasized the importance of early intervention in preventing suicide. She highlighted that everyone shares the same goal of reducing and eliminating suicide within the state of North Dakota.
