The MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair Goes Big this Year: Two Locations, Lifesaving Screenings, and More!

Free Health Screenings Offered by MetroHealth at Two Locations on Saturday with Available Transportation

This year, The MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair is expanding to two locations, providing attendees with an opportunity to receive free health screenings, education, and career resources. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alex B. Johnson Center at the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus and at MetroHealth’s Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome, and shuttle services will be provided to transport attendees.

The health fair aims to save lives by encouraging men to prioritize their health and seek preventive care. Last year, a significant number of participants were found to have high cholesterol, high blood sugar levels, and elevated PSA levels indicating a risk of prostate cancer. Those individuals were offered follow-up care with a MetroHealth provider.

Dr. Charles Modlin, a urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of men prioritizing their health. He stated that every person deserves a chance at a long, healthy life, regardless of their background or economic status. The Men’s Health Fair provides an opportunity for men to take charge of their health by offering screenings and education on various health topics including cholesterol, diabetes, digestive health, heart health, and more.
