Summer of Science and Math: Exciting Camps at Fort Hays State University’s SMEI Fill Up Fast!

Registration for the FHSU Science Summer Camp is now open.

Fort Hays State University’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI) is providing summer camps for youngsters in grades four through eight. These camps are limited to two per student and are filling up quickly. Each camp runs for four days a week, Monday through Thursday, with sessions lasting three hours each either in the morning from 9 a.m. to noon or in the afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m.

This year’s camps offer diverse science and math experiences through hands-on activities and projects. The Main Street Math Camp is designed for grades four through six, while A Sense of Place: Designing for Folklore and Fairytale Camp targets grades five and six. Similarly, A Sense of Place: Designing for Folklore and Fairytale Camp is tailored for grades seven and eight, as well as Camp North Star for grades five through seven, Robot O Rama Camp for grades four and five, and Robo Challenge Camp for grades six through eight.

The registration fee for each camp is $70, with the deadline set at Friday, May 3rd. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of two camps per student.
