Rangers Shortstop Corey Seager Suffers Left Shin Contusion, Forced to Leave Game Early

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was forced to leave the game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night due to a left shin contusion. In the seventh inning, Seager was hit by a pitch while taking first base and had to be attended to by the medical staff. Despite being injured, Seager remained in the game for the rest of the inning.

After the game, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy stated that Seager’s left shin had swelled up significantly and quickly. He mentioned that Seager’s status for the next game will depend on how he is feeling in the morning. It is currently unclear whether Seager will be able to play in the next game.

This injury marks the second time this season that Seager has been forced to leave a game early. In May, he suffered a right ankle sprain and had to exit a game against the Toronto Blue Jays after just two innings. The 2023 World Series MVP will be closely monitored by the Rangers’ medical staff as they determine the extent of his injury and when he will be able to return to the field.
