West Georgia Technical College Appoints Mike Jiles as Vice President of Operations and Technology

Dr. Julie Post, President of West Georgia Technical College (WGTC), is thrilled to announce the promotion of Mike Jiles from Assistant Vice President of Facilities to Vice President of Operations and Technology. Jiles, with 20 years of military service and prior experience, first joined WGTC in 2009 as Facilities Director. He has since held various positions within the college, including Executive Director of Facilities and Assistant Vice President of Facilities. Under his leadership, he played a crucial role in merging two college facilities departments and overseeing major construction projects in Douglas, Coweta, and Carroll counties.

Dr. Post praised Jiles for his creativity and effective leadership in implementing significant changes in facilities and operations at WGTC. She recognized his dedication and positive impact on the college through his work. In his new role, Jiles will be responsible for overseeing the facilities department, information technology department, and campus bookstore operations. This promotion will allow him to have a greater influence on strategic decisions and planning for the college’s future.

Jiles expressed his excitement about his new position and the opportunity to contribute to WGTC’s growth and success. He looks forward to being involved in discussions about new programs and space requirements, giving him a better understanding of WGTC’s direction and goals.
