West Branch’s Beau Alazaus had an outstanding performance, driving in four runs on two hits in the Warriors’ 10-0 victory over Minerva at Carl Michael Field. He hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the sixth. Alongside Alazaus, Hunter Shields contributed with two hits and three runs, while senior Jaxon Robb made a strong return to the lineup, going 2-for-2 with two runs. Robb, playing his first game since his freshman season, received medical clearance earlier in the day.

The Warriors scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Biskup and Boston Mulinix both had two stolen bases in the game. On the Minerva side, sophomore Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 but took the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, on four hits in three-plus innings.

West Branch has been dominant so far this season, holding a 5-0 record overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC). Meanwhile, Minerva is struggling to keep up, falling to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC. The Warriors will face Marlington next on Tuesday as they look to continue their winning streak.
