Tight End Brock Wright Signs New Three-Year Contract with Lions, Securing Key Position in NFC Championship Game

Lions exercise matching rights on 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

The Lions have made the decision to match the restricted free agent offer sheet that tight end Brock Wright signed with the 49ers. This means that Wright will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season, as he will remain with the team.

Wright has played in 41 games for the Lions over the last three seasons, recording 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns. He has been a valuable asset to the team, and his departure would have left a gaping hole in their offense.

The deal is reportedly a three-year contract worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed. This is a significant increase from the Lions’ original restricted free agent tender of $2.985 million, which shows that Wright is highly valued by the team.

With Wright remaining on the roster, he will continue to team up with Sam LaPorta as the top tight ends in Tennessee. Together, they will help lead the Lions to success in their NFC Championship Game against their opponents from San Francisco.
