The Male Seminary Recreation Center at Cherokee Nation is a hub for sports and fitness enthusiasts in Tahlequah. Offering free volleyball, basketball, and pickleball leagues to Cherokee Nation citizens, the center, also known as “Markoma,” is committed to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

In addition to sports leagues, the center provides various other amenities to its members. These include free gym equipment and fitness classes, which are available to both citizens and non-citizens for a membership fee of $20. The center offers a range of sports leagues throughout the year, with the fall basketball league kicking off in November and continuing with volleyball, pickleball, cornhole, and softball.

The center also hosts a senior’s class three days a week where they play chair volleyball. The seniors love the movement and activity and there are plans to expand the class to four days a week in the future. The Male Seminary Recreation Center is open every day of the week and offers programs and activities for all age groups and interests.

Located at 1501 Graham Ave in Tahlequah, the center is open Monday to Thursday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m
