The Southern Nevada Health District has announced a data breach that occurred on their website, affecting approximately 300 clients. This incident involved data from clients who completed transactions using the Environmental Health Invoice Payment form between March 4 and March 14. Officials discovered malicious code on the page, which redirected clients to a fraudulent payment form that appeared to be a credit card payment page not affiliated with the district.

The code was removed on March 14, and law enforcement was notified of the incident. To address the breach, the district has hired cybersecurity experts to secure the site and investigate the incident further. They are working closely with law enforcement to prevent future incidents and protect the security of their clients and patients.

Those impacted by the breach will receive a letter from SNHD and will be offered assistance with potential identity theft and resolution services. As of now, there have been no reports of credit misuse resulting from this incident.
