Soccer Stars and Medical Professionals Join Forces for Groundbreaking Partnership

UofL Health selected as new sports medicine partner for Louisville’s professional soccer teams

UofL Health doctors have partnered with coaches and players from Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC to announce a new collaboration. This partnership will see UofL Health physicians responsible for overseeing the medical care of both teams moving forward.

During the announcement, Brett Hayes, vice president of UofL Health’s Sports Medicine Institute, highlighted that this partnership will bring a wide range of services and cutting-edge sports medicine to the players. The platform utilizing motion capture technology showcased during the announcement will analyze the movement of athletes, while data gathered from working with the players will inform treatments for regular patients in the future.

Racing Louisville Head Coach Beverly Yanez expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the privilege of having dedicated individuals supporting the team. The collaboration will also increase UofL Health’s visibility at Lynn Family Stadium, with naming rights to a field in the teams’ training center. Furthermore, the partnership aims to develop a community initiative to increase access to soccer for children in underserved areas.
