Seahawks Set for Playoff Redemption in 2024 Despite Missing Out Last Season

CBS Sports projects Seattle Seahawks to return to playoffs in 2024 after missing out for one season.

In 2023, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly missed out on the postseason, earning the No. 8 seed in the seven-team playoff bracket in the NFC. With a record of 9-8 for the second consecutive year, there is certainly room for improvement. Changes have already occurred from last season, with a new head coach in former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald taking over for long-time legendary coach Pete Carroll, in addition to various other staff changes.

Despite being in a tough division in the NFC West, with strong teams like the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks have shown promise under their new leadership. CBS Sports has predicted six teams that missed the playoffs in 2023 and are expected to make the final bracket in 2024. The Seattle Seahawks are one of those teams, with their skill talent like DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III still apparent.

The New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Atlanta Falcons are also projected to make the playoffs alongside the Seahawks next season. This prediction includes quarterback Aaron Rodgers making his re-debut with the Jets after injuring his Achilles in the 2023 season. The Seahawks will face tough competition in the NFC but have the talent and potential to make a playoff appearance with their new coaching staff.
