Samsung’s commitment to enhancing Bixby with generative AI: Improving user experience and redefining the role of digital assistants in the company’s ecosystem.

Bixby remains a priority for Samsung in the age of generative AI

Samsung is constantly working to improve its digital assistant Bixby with new features powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI). The assistant was first introduced in 2017 with the Galaxy S8 and now spans the entire Samsung intelligence ecosystem.

During the presentation of the Galaxy S24, Samsung showcased several new functions powered by generative AI, including the Rodea search tool, Photo Assistant, Translation in real time, and Notes Assistant. While these features have not yet been extended to Bixby, they highlight Samsung’s plans for the assistant.

Recently, Executive Vice President of the device business, Won-joon Choi, confirmed in an interview with CNBC that Samsung intends to equip Bixby with generative AI to enhance its capabilities and enable more natural conversations. This development aligns with the company’s goal of creating an interface that seamlessly integrates with Samsung products in its ecosystem.

Overall, Samsung’s commitment to enhancing Bixby with generative AI demonstrates its dedication to evolving the digital assistant to better serve users and redefine its role within the company’s offerings.
