Join the Green Movement: Yampa Valley’s ‘Business Leadership for Climate’ Workshop Series Aims to Certify Local Businesses

Workshop on Sustainable Practices in Business to be Held in Northwest Colorado this Week

The Yampa Valley Sustainability Council and Steamboat Springs Chamber have joined forces to host the second installment of the “Business Leadership for Climate” workshop series on Wednesday. Local business owners and organizations are invited to attend this informative event, which will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Routt County Health and Human Services Community Room in Steamboat Springs.

During the workshop, attendees will learn about the benefits of state-level recognition through the Colorado Green Business Network and how to achieve bronze-level certification within the first year. The organizers will provide comprehensive knowledge about the green business program, guidance on the recognition application process, and tips on accumulating points toward certification.

The goal of the event is to support the growth of the Yampa Valley green business community and facilitate discussions about green business opportunities and challenges. Lunch will be provided by Hypnotic Chicken, with energy bars from Bar-U-Eat. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

For those unable to attend the workshop, the Colorado Green Business Network of the Yampa Valley team will host office hours at the Bud Werner Memorial Library Coffee Bar from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. No RSVP is necessary, and attendees can drop by, enjoy a free coffee and snack, and get their questions answered.
