Engineer Brent Kejr Brings Clean Water Solutions to Samaritan’s Purse: Global Charity Leverages Advanced Technologies to Address Water Crisis

Samaritan’s Purse commemorates World Water Day

Brent Kejr, an engineer with a passion for building and solving problems, left his home in Asia three years ago to join Samaritan’s Purse. This global organization travels the world to provide clean drinking water to people in need, using advanced technologies and filter systems to overcome even the toughest circumstances. Some of their filters are even powered by solar panels and can be left behind permanently in countries where water access is a major issue.

As part of his role at Samaritan’s Purse, Kejr helps design equipment that provides clean drinking water globally. His work has taken him to some of the most challenging places on Earth, including Haiti after the earthquake, Ukraine, and various emergency field hospitals around the world. The organization has mobile units that can be deployed anywhere they are needed, capable of filtering water quickly and efficiently. These units can provide clean drinking water for up to 10,000 people a day when connected to a freshwater source, with smaller filters available specifically for use in field hospitals to ensure patients have access to clean water for care and surgeries.

Samaritan’s Purse is committed to preventing disease outbreaks by providing safe drinking water during disasters and emergencies. Deputy Director David Phillips emphasized the importance of water as a basic human need, stressing the need for preparedness at all times. In countries like Ukraine, where war has damaged the water infrastructure, Samaritan’s Purse was able to drill wells and distribute clean water throughout the community.

Kejr and his team’s work at Samaritan’s Purse ensures that access to clean drinking water remains a top priority during times of crisis. Their dedication and expertise make it possible for people around the world to receive safe drinking water when they need it most.
