A man who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl at the Museum of Science and Industry is being sought by Chicago police. The incident happened on Thursday when the girl got separated from her group while exploring the museum located at 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
The suspect approached the girl and offered to help her find her group. He then took her to the museum’s second floor, where he asked if she needed to use the restroom. When the girl said yes, the suspect followed her into the bathroom.
While in the restroom, the suspect crawled under the stall door and touched the girl inappropriately. The girl managed to kick him and he fled from the restroom.
The suspect is described as being between 30 to 40 years old, weighing between 160 to 180 pounds, and standing between 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He has curly light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.
Chicago police have issued a community alert and are asking anyone with information about this crime or any other crimes involving children or sexual assaults to call them at (312) 492-3810.
