On the morning of April 2nd, 2024, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Plymouth Police Officers received a call about a fight taking place at the Economy Inn, located at 2535 N. Michigan Street. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered two males who had been involved in a physical altercation. According to the investigation carried out by the officers, the intoxicated males had first engaged in a verbal argument before one of them, identified as Bill Ortiz, 44 of Plymouth, punched the other male in the face, causing injury.

As a result of his actions, Ortiz was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for charges of Battery resulting in Bodily Injury and Public Intoxication.
