During the event, Paquin used a cane to help her walk due to an undisclosed health issue that has been affecting her for the past two years, resulting in mobility and speech difficulties. Despite these challenges, Paquin remains hopeful for a full recovery.

In “A Bit of Light,” Paquin plays a struggling mother who moves in with her father after losing custody of her children to her ex-husband and his partner. The film also stars Ray Winstone, Youssef Kerkour, Pippa Bennett-Warner, and Luca Hogan. Paquin expressed her passion for independent filmmaking during the event, highlighting that it was her first love in the industry. She praised Moyer’s directing skills and described him as her favorite person to work with.
