115-Year-Old Venezuelan Man Juan Vicente Perez Mora Dies Before His 115th Birthday: A Life of Work, Faith, and Family

Juan Perez, Guinness’ World Record Holder for Oldest Man, Passes Away at Age 114

Juan Vicente Perez Mora, a humble and hardworking man from Venezuela, passed away just weeks before his 115th birthday. Guinness World Records named him the oldest man in the world on February 4, 2022, when he was 112 years and 253 days old. This distinction came after the death of Saturnino de le Fuento Garcia.

Mr. Mora attributed his longevity to a simple lifestyle that included hard work, rest, early bedtimes, a daily glass of aguardiente, and his strong faith in God. He was a father of 11 with over 40 grandchildren, making him not only an old man but also a proud grandfather.

Governor Freddy Bernal expressed his deep sadness at Mr. Mora’s passing, describing him as a humble and dedicated individual who cherished family and traditions. Mr. Mora began working in agriculture at the age of five and later became a sheriff known for resolving disputes in his community.

In addition to witnessing significant historical events such as both World Wars, the invention of television, and the moon landing, Mr. Mora also survived COVID-19 in 2020. President Nicolas Maduro paid tribute to him on social media, offering his condolences to Mr. Perez’s family and the people of El Cobre in Tachira state. May God receive him in eternal glory
